Family Pictures 2012

This year for our family pictures we went out with some friends and just took pictures of each other. I found this awesome old building downtown a long time ago that I've been wanting to use as a backdrop. It was a lot of fun...and crazy trying to get all the kids to smile!

Tee-Ball!!!

We are THRILLED to finally get Jack into a sport. This kid came out of the womb ready to play some ball. Today was Jack's very first tee-ball game. The poor kid actually had kind of a hard day (he had a little bit of a cold so he took a nap, but then woke up grumpy and told us he wanted to play soccer. Wow). Anyways, we got him to the game and he was a little moody, which is why you see John with him in the game. But when it was all said and done, he realized that it was a ton of fun and can't wait until Saturday's game!

The first hit of Jack's tee-ball career:

Practicing with dad.

Getting some instruction from the coach.

The first hit of the career:
(it's weak sauce compared to how he usually hits, but its a cute :)

Running the bases!

Jack's No. 1 fan!

 He's lovin' it now.

Painted Kitchen Cabinets: Before and After

I will say, although it was totally worth it to paint these cabinets, I don't think I'll ever to do it again. It was an INSANE project to do with the kids around. But the time that Jack was off with a friend and Lily was asleep, I was able to do so much more. So if you do choose to take on a project like this, get a babysitter!

Before

After!
Almost everything in this kitchen has been changed. We tore out the linoleum and put in laminate flooring, painted the walls (from tan to light yellow), and then painted the cabinets! Man, I don't know if I can ever leave this house, just thinking about all the work we've done to it!

Utah Appreciation Week #5&6: Gilgal Sculpture Garden and More!

These activities were really over about two weeks time...I'm just a little behind on me bloggin'!

One of my cousins came to visit from Chicago. When I picked her up from the airport, we grabbed some grub from Moochies (featured on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives) and had a little picnic at the

Gilgal Sculpture Garden

(Lily gets nervous with Jack's arm around her. Can you tell? I don't blame her :P  )

The garden is free to the public which is awesome. AND. It's like SLC's own secret garden. Not a lot of people know about it, you'll drive right by it and not know it unless you're really looking for it.

Jungle Jims
(with Quincy, Jessica, Zander, and Vienna)

(If you watch, KSL has deals sometimes for $5 wristbands, and parents get in free).

We also went to a little splash park near Centerville
with some friends. (There are a bunch of these around town)

Jack loved getting soaked...

and Lily walked AROUND the water to avoid getting wet.  Haha. :)

John and I also celebrated our anniversary last week. The big FIVE! So we took off for a little weekend getaway and went to The Roof, did some shopping at City Creek, stayed at the Anniversary Inn, and went to Seven Peaks the following day. So much fun. Our actual anniversary fell on a thursday so that day we built a fire in our fire pit and roasted some smores with Ky and Whit.
They even brought us some bubbly :)

There really is SO MUCH to do in this town!

I just have to say, getting out and doing all this fun stuff has really made me realize how much Utah has to offer! It's seriously been the funnest summer ever!
