Jack's First Day of Preschool

This kid has been obsessed with being "big like daddy" so he can go to school!

And that day finally came!

Jack used to say that he wants to be a doctor when he grows up. The last couple of weeks when we ask him what he wants to be he says "Buzz, cause he can fly!" I think we're going to ask our kids every year at the start of school, what they want to be. It's kinda fun. :)

When I pictured this day in my head, I always saw myself crying. But I'm just so happy for Jack to start a new phase in his life (and to have two and a half extra hours of mommy time), that tears just don't even seem appropriate! Jack gets bored so easy, I know being in school is going to make him so happy!

What do you think?

Utah Appreciation Week #4: Jordan River Trail Biking and Harvest Days Parade

These kiddos were fortunate enough to discover a parade that threw just as much candy as they would typically get at Halloween! The Harvest Days Parade in Midvale happens in August and they have some really fun floats and again, lots of candy. I was sad I didn't get to be there, (I was home shampooing our carpets), but John was nice enough to take some pictures!

Harvest Days Parade

John's Jack's favorite part of the parade--the teeny tiny firetruck.

The other activity we did this week was going on a family bike ride down the Jordan River Trail. Jack is way good at riding his bike now, so we trusted him on the trail with other bikers and he didn't disappoint. We all had a fantastic time.

Wobble Wobble

Lily (finally) decided she wanted to take off walking this week. Previously, she showed no interest whatsoever in wanting to practice with us. She just had to want to do it herself!
