Utah Appreciation Week #2: Camping at Bear Lake

This week for our Utah Appreciation activity, we went camping at Rendezvous Beach on Bear Lake. This was actually my first time visiting Bear Lake and I was very impressed.

We tried Rasberry Shakes at the places that had the longest lines outside. And we found the Quick 'N' Tasty had THE BEST shakes at Bear Lake.C

.Happy Father's Day.

We had a very fun Father's Day! Jack was really excited for it too since he got to help out with one of daddy's presents. :)

This has Jack and Lily's hand prints with a quote that says,
"Daddy, no matter how big we get we will always reach for you!"

We started the day with a "Man Breakfast" (huge omlets with bacon), and had breakfast in a tent in the backyard. We did all of the present opening out there too!

Later, my dad came over to have dinner with us and to spend the evening.

This was our delicious Peanut Butter Fudge Trifle dessert.

A you can see, there was some confusion as to who this was for....

But after a few bites of this rich baby, we were all ok with sharing!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day!

Utah Appreciation Week #1: Kennecott Copper Mine and Copperton Park

John and I have been feeling lately like we don't appreciate Utah the way we probably should. We are always complaining and wishing we were somewhere else...cause the grass is always greener on the other side, right?

So we have taken it upon ourselves to find all the interesting and exciting things that Utah has to offer, and go and see them all as if we are tourists. Since that's what we do whenever we travel to another state!

This week we went the to Kennecott Copper Mine and the Copperton Park. It's easy to hit both places since the town of Copperton is just below the mine and a few blocks north.

We thought Jack would like seeing the "Monster Trucks," as he called them...

But he LOVED IT!

Copperton Park

This particular park is really fun for the kids because there are tons of different things to play on from the playgrounds and swings, to gigantic tires and tunnels!

Farewell, Dear Friends

We said goodbye to some of our close family yesterday. John's brother Russ, and his wife Vanessa along with their two little girls, are making the move down to Arizona. It was a sad day for us, but were excited for them to get a new start down south.

I was lucky enough to get to spend the day with my darling nieces while everyone else packed up the truck. These kids had a very fun last day together!

These two beautiful girls will be missed!

Thank you Russ and Vanessa for always being there for us, for being our support, and most of all, for being our friends.

We LOVE you!
