*Happy One Week Jack*

Jack is such a sweet baby. We have loved our little addition to the family and all the joy he has brought to us. I have found that being a mommy has turned me to an even bigger softy. I find myself looking at Jack and getting teary-eyed because I love him so much! It's been fun watching John with Jack, he is a very cute dad!

Jack is one week old and he is doing so well...besides the fact that he had to get circumcised today. All I have to say is, I am speechless and scared for life from watching what Jack had to go through.

On a happier note, Jack is growing and healthy. He has gained 9 ounces already and grown an inch and a half! I guess that means mom doesn't have to worry that he's not getting enough! His tummy time is going great too! He has a strong neck and legs!

It's fun getting to know this little guy! He has cute little quirky things he does like get the hiccups when he gets scared. When he's concentrating on something that he's looking at he puckers up his lips like he wants to kiss you!!

Some Poop, A Bath, and Holy Worship

John had fun ironing Jack's little white shirt and dressing him for church! They looked really spiffy with their matching outfits and ties.
During all of sacrament meeting, Jack didn't even make a peep, he just slept in my arms like a little angel.

After an explosive poopy diaper, we were forced to give Jack his first sponge bath. He didn't cry at all in the hospital getting poked with shots, but getting bathed made me feel like I was torturing him to death because boy did he cry!
Then, after that explosive episode, John was burping Jack over his shoulder and Jack took the opportunity to poo up the front of John's diaper and all over the front of John's shirt! Good thing he's so adorable or daddy might not have responded so nicely! Haha!

A Special Gift

Jack Renn Sperry was born July 23, 2009 at 7:55 am and he was 8.1 pounds, 21 inches. I was supposed to be induced that morning but he decided to come just a little before that, thank goodness! He had a little trouble breathing at first so he went to intensive care, but he recovered quickly and in about 2 hours we got to be with him for the rest of our stay. This has been such a rich blessing to have such a sweet spirit entrusted to John and I. We love him more than anything in the world and we're excited for him to teach us some of the most important lessons in life.

We will update this blog regularly so you can keep up with little Jack!
